Artist: Lydia Album: Devil

It's that time again! It seems every day around noon I should have a spanking new review up during the week! Good ol Exciting Thursday! To hold you over to one more day till the weekend, here is an awesome album. LYDIA's Devil.

The history of Lydia is so crazy that I would actually just recommend you to check out their website. They pretty much started writing music in 7th grade, won a few contests, got recognized, started taking themselves seriously. They also released multiple badass albums. Then went on a hiatus. Just came off the hiatus last year announcing this new album Devil.

If you were curious as to what Lydia sounds like, Tom DeLonge's way of pronouncing words in Blink 182, mixed with Never Shout Never plus City and Colour, while slapping a subtle slight country twang, all mashed up into a band.

After listening to this album for the 100th time. I will say this is most certainly a GREAT road trip album. Upbeat melodic music keeping you interested in listening to the next song. I will say the jewel of this album is a song called, "Take Your Time." Every time it comes on, the singer, Leighton Antelman's voice is super chilling. It's amazing. I will say he has a very distinct voice and he is definitely a great song writer. That boy has some talent. He has a great thing going there.

They most certainly touched on a few elements they had on their second album Illuminate, which is fantastic as well. Go check that out.

This album gets a solid Four Spotlights out of Five.
Song to listen to from them : "Take Your Time."
It seems this week I am doing a sort of Indie Rock theme. I guess The Films album review on Monday's blog set the mood for the week.
