Artist: Mutemath Album: Odd Soul

Where do I start? Oh hey, a little history of the band seems to be what people like. Mutemath is an American alternative rock band from New Orleans that formed in 2003. The group consists of lead vocalist and keyboardist Paul Meany, drummer Darren King, guitarist Todd Gummerman, and bassist Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas, but they often perform on any mixture or variation of these instruments.
(I’ve actually seen them interchange between things during a set. SUPER talented dudes.) They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007.

"WOW," is what I have to say about this album. Such melody, such talent, just all over in your ear holes on this album.(Sorry if that sounds gross, but it’s very true.) From the first song till song number thirteen. You will turn up those headphones or roll those windows down in that car. There have been times where I actually replay the album right after the end.

Songs like, “Odd Soul,” “Heads Up,” “Blood Pressure,” “All or Nothing,” the album finisher, “In No Time,” and what I think is my favorite song on the album “Equals,” is all just amazing. There isn’t any other word I can use.

This is one of a VERY few selected albums I’ll ever give a full FIVE SPOTLIGHTS to. I felt I wanted to share this album early on with my album reviews because I can’t leave you not knowing who this band is. MUTEMATH

Mutemath has 6 other albums/EPs I recommend checking out. Each one is pretty solid as well. Although I feel Odd Soul is definitely a home run for these talented guys.
